Larry the Letter Carrier jumped into Crete, Greece the other day and I began telling him about getting ready for a party, and he was like, whoa mate – put it in a letter so I can share with my online friends.
Hello! My name is Lulu, and I am a Cretan shrew. I am tiny but mighty! And even though shrews are not social animals, I always have places to go and something to do! Time to get ready for the party!
I put on my red shoes. But no, that just won't do. I put on a tutu and said to myself, Lulu, you need more than that! So, on goes a hat. Now I am ready for the party! Lulu the shrew in red shoes, red tutu, and a red hat. Doesn’t get better than that, or does it?
I tried on my yellow shoes and thought this just might do. I put on a yellow tutu and heard my voice echo, Lulu, Lulu, Lulu what more do you want to do? I put on a yellow hat and that was that. Now I am ready for the party! Lulu the shrew in yellow shoes, yellow tutu, and yellow hat, it doesn’t get better than that, or does it?
I put on my blue shoes and said oh, this just might do. I put on a blue tutu and said to myself, Lulu what more do you want to do? I put on a blue hat and that was that. Now I am ready for the party! Lulu the shrew in blue shoes, blue tutu, and a blue hat! Woohoo, doesn’t get better than that, or does it?
I said to myself, oh Lulu, what are you going to do? Red, yellow, blue shoes. Red, yellow, blue tutus. Red, yellow, blue hats. Trying on this and that. Get ready for the party!
I put on my red shoes and said yes, these will do! I put on my yellow tutu and said yes this will do! Next to follow, I put on my blue hat and said that is that! Now I am ready for the party! Lulu the shrew in red shoes, yellow tutu, and blue hat, it doesn’t get better than that. No, no it doesn’t. Lulu the shrew is ready for the party!!

Additional tidbits –Cretan shrews can only be found in Crete, Greece. They live in rocky terrains, forests, and grasslands. The Cretan shrew is about 3 inches long, with a tail that more than doubles its size. They weigh only about half an ounce! The shrew has a fast metabolism and eats almost constantly to maintain its weight. The oldest olive trees in the world are located in Crete, Greece. The first tutu was worn in 1832. The word comes from the French word tu-tu which means bottom.
